About
Every person's story is different.
I believe that meaningful change begins when we feel understood. Anxiety, stress, trauma and difficult life experiences can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, making life seem smaller than it once was.
My role is not to tell you who to become. It is to create a calm, supportive space where you can better understand yourself, gently untangle what is keeping you stuck and begin moving towards a life that feels more connected, more confident and more like your own.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent over twenty years supporting people to learn, grow and navigate change within higher education. Alongside my academic career, I trained in psychotherapy, clinical hypnosis, mindfulness and coaching because I wanted to understand not only how people think, but how lasting change happens.
Today, I bring these experiences together through an integrative approach that is tailored to each individual. Some people benefit from talking therapy, others from mindfulness, somatic approaches or clinical hypnosis. Together, we find what works best for you.
I am a registered hypno-psychotherapist, a trainee psychotherapist working towards UKCP accreditation and a Full Member of the British Psychological Society. Alongside my private practice, I continue to work as Professor of Mindfulness and Professional Development at the University of Surrey, where my research explores psychological wellbeing, mindfulness and human development.
Whether you are looking for support with anxiety, panic, trauma, obsessive thoughts, stress or life transitions, I hope Yateley Therapy Space offers a place where you feel heard, understood and able to begin moving forward.
