WHAT TO EXPECT
Therapy is personal and there is not one size fits all. This space provides information about what to expect in therapy at Yateley Therapy Space: the space, areas I focus on, tools I use and the therapeutic process.
THERAPY SPACE
Yateley Therapy Space is located opposite Yateley Common, surrounded by trees and bird song. The picture below shows the space inside, so you know what to expect in-person or online. I offer exclusive privacy, a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space where all of you is welcome.
The therapy space is suitable for wheelchair users, but there are no accessible toilets.
Parking is available outside the premises.
10 min walk from/to Blackwater train station.

THERAPY PROCESS
You are in control
Collaboration is key to our process. You are in control and we work with what you bring. My role as therapist is to guide you non-judgmentally with empathy and to provide a safe space.
Three step framework
The therapeutic process is build on our therapeutic relationship which starts from the very first point of contact. I use a three step framework to guide our process, which I developed through research and during training:
Understand
Understand focuses on understanding your world and the presenting issue(s) as part of it. We might draw on different psychological concepts to gain insight and understanding.
Create
This allows us to create new meaning and knowledge of the presenting issue(s) and we can create new ways of thinking and feeling, new connections to self and others. A range of therapy tools support this second step.
Integrate
Successful therapy integrates insights and new ways of being so that we can move towards greater wellbeing and live freely with ease and contentment.
I use this framework for short- or long-term therapy. The length of therapy, short or long, is set by you. You will know when you are ready to leave therapy - when you are free.

THERAPY AREAS
We, human beings are complex, with our thoughts, emotions and sensations guiding our day to day. At times these can become overwhelming. Most of the time emotions, thoughts and sensations occur together. For instance you might feel anxious and experience heart palpitations and certain thoughts. We will look at all of these, so we can make sense of how they affect you and identify a way forwards that allows you to free yourself.
Perhaps you already know what you would like to bring to therapy or maybe you don’t. I am open minded to explore with you how I can help you. Below is a short list of areas I have successfully worked on as a coach and now offer therapy for:
anger, anxiety, grief, loss,
physical pain and syndromes,
stress and obsessive behaviours.
lifestyle matters - sleep, eating habits and substance use
THERAPY FOR ADULTS 18+
At present I work with adults, from 18+ years old. Based on my extensive experience as an academic and parent of twins, I am also very welcoming to young adults 18-25 years and parents/guardians of multiples/ twins.

THERAPY TOOLS
Yateley Therapy Space offers integrative therapy informed by Eastern and Western psychology, philosophy and rooted in science and research. Because we are complex human beings, I adapt therapy towards you instead of applying tools that might not work for you. Identifying what works for you is part of the process. The following tools can be helpful in this process:
Clinical Hypnosis & Relaxation
Embodied & Emotion-focused therapy
Mindfulness & Lifestyle Medicine
Talking therapy
